Cryptic Title I know, you’d think with all of the social media out there; I would be well trained to give my life story in 140 characters!

What I want to talk about today is organizing your spaces, in particular your closets.   When selling a home or looking to buy a home; closets need to be tidy.   Decluttering and utilizing containers and boxes will help that cause.  I was recently at a California Closet “party” and got some great tips without any investment!

The biggest mistake we all make is keeping everything we ever buy.   We have “hope” clothes for when we lose that weight we gained, clothes that we love and hope will come back in to style and clothes from careers gone by!   What Meredith (our consultant) suggested was to hang all of your clothes backwards.   As you wear the clothes you can turn the hanger the correct way.   After a month look at what hangers are still backwards and make decisions on which of those clothes to keep if any!

Another way to pare down your clothing is each time  you buy something new;  get rid of something old.   I know  that many organizations appreciate gently worn clothes.

If you have a bit of  money, buying hangers that are all the same type will streamline your closet.

One comment on linen closets she gave us;  put your sheets inside the pillow case.   That way you are not searching through mounds of linens   for the perfect bedding match.
