After two recent fires in the Brooks Chase neighborhood; I thought it was important to get the word out about attic fires.

There are so many fires that happen that could be prevented with a little caution.  If you have a bird’s nest near your exterior lights; those light bulbs could become hot enough to ignite the materials the nest is made of such as twigs and grass.

Both of the fires in the Brooks Chase area were caused by this.    Once a fire hits an attic…it spreads very rapidly.

So if you notice a birds nest anywhere near your exterior lighting…be sure to either remove the nest or do not use the lights until you can remove the nest.
