About Marchant Team-Fishers Indiana Real Estate Professionals
Posted by marchantteam under For Buyers, For Sellers, General Information
The Marchant Team has been selling real estate in Fishers, Indiana as well as the surrounding area since 2001. We average about $15 million in sales each year with just two of us, Cindy Marchant and Liz Hanes. We have recently added two new members to our team, Dixie Oberlin and Susan Timmerman. While this is a blog about Fishers Real Estate, we also have a blog that details our experiences with buyer and sellers that show why we are the preferred realtors in this area.
Here is the first entry from that blog:
Flashlights for Buyers
My first example happened several months ago with Justin, my buyer. We were looking at a bank owned real estate in Fishers, Indiana with either bulbs or electricity out so that the basement was pitch black. Sometimes in bank owned, the basement flood so we couldn’t tell if there was even water on the ground. I decided to run to a CVS and get two flashlights, which I did and we were able to view the basement and look for water penetration. Since we were able to complete the showing to his satisfaction, we were able to write an offer yesterday. It is a multiple bid scenario so we’ll see if we get the home; but had we not gotten the flashlights…the house would have sold to the other bidder before we had a change to make our bid.
I now carry a tool kit in the back of my car; it has the flashlight, a tape measure, a camera, a screwdriver, a ping pong ball (just in case the floor looks like it slopes!) and many other useful items!

Hamilton County recognized by Forbes
Posted by marchantteam under Fishers, For Buyers, For Sellers, Regional News
Forbes names Hamilton County as the Best….
We have seen lots of people relocating to the Fishers, Carmel (which are located in Hamilton County, Indiana) area over the last few years. It is no surprise that Hamilton County is a great place to live by those of us who do. But now, we have national recognition! Forbes Magazine just named Hamilton County as the best place in the United State to raise a family.
Forbes started with a list of counties across the country with populations over 65,000. They then further reduced that list by looking at SAT and ACT scores that were less than 1050 and 22 respectively.
That left a list of 51 counties. They then looked at these ten categories:
- Cost of living,
- Graduation rate,
- Standardized scores,
- Home price,
- Property tax rate as a percentage of median home price,
- Percentage of homes occupied by owner,
- Per-capita income,
- Air quality,
- Crime rate and
- Ccommute time (Okay, I must admit…they probably didn’t actually drive I69 in rush hour!)
In the end Hamilton County ranked first with these criteria.
There are many great locations to live in Hamilton County. Carmel has a great Monon Center that just opened with an outdoor pool and water park as well as tennis, racquet ball and a full service gym as well as walking and biking trails. Fishers has Conner Prairie, a great outdoor venue to watch the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Noblesville has a great old downtown charm with Victorian houses and white picket fences. Cicero has Morse Lake which is a great place for boating. Westfield has the new outdoor air mall called Clay Terrace. Atlanta has a great restuarant where the Grateful Dead meets St. Elmos! Many of these cities have received national recognition from various sources.
